FAQs
What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula supports the whole family in the weeks and months after a baby arrives — feeding support, newborn care education, emotional support, restorative meals, and rest, all shaped around your household and your values.
Why do I need a Postpartum Doula?
The early weeks with a new baby are wonderful and demanding at once, and most of us no longer live near the village that once carried new families through them. A doula brings experienced, judgment-free hands and steady reassurance, so you can recover, bond, and learn with real support behind you.
What is the difference between a Postpartum Doula and a Baby/Night Nurse?
A baby nurse cares primarily for the baby. A postpartum doula cares for the family — the birthing parent's recovery, feeding, sleep for everyone, siblings, and the household rhythm that holds it all together.
My goal is to work myself out of a job: to leave you feeling confident, connected, and capable of trusting your own instincts as parents.
How long do we work together?
As long as it serves you. Some families book a few weeks of intensive early support; others keep a lighter rhythm going for several months. We design a schedule together and adjust it as your needs change.
I've heard doulas are expensive.
Support should not be out of reach. I offer varied packages and options for families of all incomes. Contact me and we will find what works for your family.
